The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric comes in two different trims the Plus and Ultimate. Its powered by a 78 kWh battery combined with 2 electric motors to produce an output of 402 horsepower. Its capable of travelling 208 miles on a full charge and at a 150 kW DC charging station, you can charge the battery from zero to around 80 per cent in approximately 40 minutes (or around 80?100 km range in 10 minutes). Just enough time to take a rest and have a meal. The most basic XC40 Recharge Pure Electric trim is dubbed the Plus trim. Since it's still a bit of a luxury vehicle, basic amenities are pretty nice and include items such as a 9-inch display, Bluetooth, a power operated liftgate, smartphone integration, surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors, LED headlights, a powered front seat with a driver memory function, an integrated garage door opener, 19-inch wheels and tinted windows. The next step up is the Ultimate model which adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a heated rear seat, adaptive cruise control, and an upgraded sound system with 8 harmon/kardon speakers. Safety features across the lineup include parking sensors, an active lane departure warning system, forward and rear collision mitigation, pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor and a traffic sign recognition system.
